J. Kent Davenport is a shareholder in the law firm of Davenport & Epstein, P.C. where
he practices insurance and business litigation in state and federal courts in Texas. Mr. Davenport was
born in Dallas, Texas in 1953 and received his B.A. degree from Emory University in 1975, his M.B.A. degree in accounting
from Georgia State University in 1977, and his J.D. degree from Southern Methodist University in 1980. He
has been a member of the Dallas Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas since he was licensed in 1980. He
was admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas, in 1980, and to the U.S.
District Court, Western District of Texas, in 1993. Mr. Davenport has been board certified in Civil Trial
Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1992 and was re-certified in 1997 and 2002. He is listed in Who’s
Who in American Law. He has spoken at continuing legal education seminars and authored articles on
Bad Faith Litigation in Texas (1997); Insurance Law: Third Party Coverage in Texas (1998); Bad Faith and Punitive Damages
Under Texas Law (1999). He has also had an article published in the March, 1998 Texas Bar Journal - “Who Has
Standing To Complain About Accident/Health and Disability Insurance Claim Denials?” His practice
